Richard and Katie Smith have been the Senior Pastors of Oasis Church since May 2013.
They have been married for years, and they have three children, Erin (), Nathan (), and Zeke().
Richard has grown up in Oasis Church since it was planted in 1979 when his parents, who were attending Hounslow Pentecostal Church (now Christian Community Church) in Pears Road, moved with the plant under the leadership of Pastor Stephen Page.
Katie started attending the youth group in the early 1990s, which is where they both met. They began dating in 1994, and were engaged in 1995, and marrying in 1997.
Richard and Katie have a long established history of working in youth ministry, and took up the role as Youth Pastors in 2000.
Richard's background before entering into full-time pastoral work was a Software Development Engineer.
Katie has worked in various administration roles until the birth of their first baby, Erin.
Richard spent a few of his years, whilst at University, playing in a Christian Band, performing in various pubs, clubs, festivals, local churches, and Prison Ministry.
Both Richard and Katie are accredited ministers with the Assemblies of God GB and both carrying preaching and teach gifts.
Richard regularly leads Worship, and plays piano and bass at Oasis.
Katie is currently studying for her Masters in Practical Christian Theology.
